A 77-year-old woman from Clearwater, Florida was shockingly awakened early Friday morning to discover an 11-foot alligator in her kitchen.
Mary Wischhusen woke up at 3:30 AM to the sound of a crash in her kitchen and discovered that a large alligator had broken through a low window.
"I had this beautiful face staring at me as though he belonged there," Wischhusen was quoted by CNN.
She even took a video of the reptile which was later posted on Twitter with the caption, “We know you've been chomping at the bit for more visuals from today's alligator trespassing in Clearwater The male alligator was 10 to 11 feet in length. During the apprehension, the alligator knocked over several bottles of wine. The red liquid in the video is wine, not blood.”
Before alerting 911, Wischhusen had run away from the kitchen and locked herself in the bedroom. "It sounded like something had fallen and busted. That's when I said, 'I'm calling 911, because that sound, that's not a normal sound," said Wischhusen.
The reptile was first spotted by Patricia Pecora while she delivering newspapers in the neighborhood.
After the police reached Wischhusen’s residence, they called a trapper to safely remove the animal without any damages to the house.
"I'm grateful he didn't come to my bedroom and chase the door down and I'm grateful for all the people who helped me,” Wischhusen said.
Earlier in May, a South Carolina woman had an unexpected visitor that tried ringing the doorbell of her house but ended up damaging the walkway.
When Karen Alfano heard the bell ring, she expected it to be someone trying to sell magazines. But instead, she was greeted by a six-and-a-half-foot alligator.
